Abstract:
PURPOSE: To use a specific resorcinol derivative for the production of a cosmetic composition or a skin agent composition to be topically applied for bleaching the skin or treating pigmentary spot. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition or a skin agent composition having depigmentation action is produced by using an active compound consisting of a resorcinol derivative of the formula [R1 is a halogen or Cn H2n -CO2 R4 ((n) is 1-5; R4 is H or a 1-6C alkyl); R2 , is H, a 1-12C alkyl, a 1-4C hydroxyalkyl, formyl or carboxyl; R3 is H, a 1-12C alkyl, a 1-4C hydroxyalkyl or carboxyl; R3 is H when R2 is not H; R2 is H when R3 is not H], preferably 4- chlororesorcinol, 4bromoresorcinol or 4-(2-methoxycarbonylethyl)resorcinol. The concentration of the compound of the formula in the composition is 0.01-1,0 wt.%, preferably 0.5-5 wt.% based on the total weight of the composition.
