To provide multi-level model-based intelligent agent diagnosis system and method for computer-controlled machines, which is operated to reduce complicatedness typically associated with the conventional model-based diagnosis systems.
This system utilizes two or more intelligent agents arranged in two or more physically hierarchical layers such that tasks associated with accomplishing model-based diagnosis are distributed amongst the intelligent agents of the respective layers wherein the information collected from a first lower level intelligent agent is processed by at least one other agent of higher level to realize system failure diagnosis. The system provides increased processing speed of modeling and/or model identification such that faster and more accurate failure isolation and identification is accomplished.
