To efficiently transport a woody biomass, to strengthen energy security in Japan and to strengthen a global warming countermeasure, by conducting economically effective use of the woody biomass as an energy source in Japan.
This method comprises: the first process for forming the woody biomass into wood chips having 10 cm or less of average diameter; the second process for heating a surface layer part of each wood chip from 250°C or more up to 450°C or less; the third process for crushing a bamboo to heat a surface layer part thereof from 250°C or more up to 450°C or less; the fourth process for mixing a material obtained in the second process with a material obtained in the third process, to be molded; and the fifth process for utilizing a transported material as the energy source. A ratio of adding the material treated by crushing the bamboo, in the fourth process, is brought into a range of 5-30% with respect to the whole. The process of using the material as the energy source in the fifth process is a process in a coal thermal electric power plant, or a pig iron-making process or steel-making process in an ironworks.
