To provide a drying oven for coating in which a treating apparatus can be small-sized while the excellent ventilation efficiency is kept.

The subject ventilation method is applied for the drying oven 1 for coating in which a coated material W is dried with hot air by supplying the heated air into a plurality of drying zones 5 and 6 arranged along the transporting direction of the coated material W. The heated air from the outside of the oven is sent only to a blowing duct 12 provided in the 1st drying zone 5 where the evaporated quantity of a volatile component is relatively small. On the other hand, the air containing the evaporated volatile component is discharged to the outside of the oven only from a suction duct 24 provided in the 2nd drying zone 6 where the evaporated quantity of the volatile component is relatively large. The air discharged to the outside of the 2nd drying zone 6 is treated in a treating apparatus 27. A part of the heated air is shifted from the 1st drying zone 5 to the 2nd drying zone 6.
