Abstract:

To efficiently wash a blanket and reduce spoilage during the washing of the blanket in an offset rotary press.

The washing of the blanket is conducted while a blanket cylinder is thrown off, by running the blanket cylinder at a peripheral velocity different from a traveling speed of a web, preferably rotating the blanket cylinder at a peripheral velocity V1, higher than a traveling speed V0 of the web.
