Abstract:
PURPOSE: To rationally wash contaminated wastes of various shapes produced in large amounts in a short time when maintenance or improvement of a nuclear power plant is carried out or when the plant is abandoned.
CONSTITUTION: A method for washing contaminated wastes includes a sorting process 2 for sorting contaminated wastes 1 generated from a nuclear installation into flat ones 3 and cylindrical ones 5 and washing processes 4, 6 for performing ultrasonic washing of the wastes of each shape sorted by the sorting process 2 and for removing using a filter the radioactive solids peeled from the wastes 3, 5.
