Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a towel cloth having crepes in the warp direction, by using hard twisted cotton threads in both weft yarns in a double cloth of a towel and gauze cloths, entwining ground warp yarns of one weave about weft yarns of the other and post treating the woven cloth. CONSTITUTION:A double cloth consisting of a towel cloth with loops on the front surface and a gauze cloth on the back surface is woven. In the process, weft yarns 2 consisting of hard twisted cotton threads are entwined about ground warp yarns 1 of the towel cloth to provide a towel ground weave. Pile warp yarns 3 are then woven in the towel ground weave to form the towel cloth having loops 4 on the surface and weft yarns 6 are simultaneously woven in the shape of a plain weave in gauze warp yarns 5 to form the gauze cloth. At this time, the gauze warp yarns 5 are entwined about the weft yarns 2 of the towel cloth, connected and tied so as not to separate both cloths. The resultant cloth is dipped in water or hot water, desized and dried to shrink the hard twisted cotton threads 2 and form crepes in the warp direction in the gauze cloth.
