PURPOSE: To reduce mutual rubbing of warp yarns and obtain a double pile fabric having a high warp yarn density by opening warp yarns for an upper fabric in the upper side of a lancet in picking a weft yarn for the upper fabric and providing a closed opening state of warp yarns for a lower fabric in the lower side of the lancet and reversing the state in picking a weft yarn for the lower fabric to the above-mentioned state.
CONSTITUTION: A double pile fabric of 'HITOKOSHl' design (a kind of plain crepe) is woven by alternately picking a weft yarn 14 for an upper fabric 11 and a weft yarn 14' for a lower fabric 11' in each reed beating. When the weft yarn 14 for the upper fabric is picked, an opening 13 by warp yarns (12a) and (12b) for the upper fabric is formed on the upper side of a lancet 16 and an opening is not formed with warp yarns (12a') and (12b') for the lower fabric to provide a parallel state on the lower side of the lancet 16. When the weft yarn 14' for the lower fabric is picked, the warp yarns (12a) and (12b) for the upper fabric are not opened oppositely to the above-mentioned state and formed into a parallel state on the upper side of the lancet 16. An opening 13' by the warp yarns (12a') and (12b') for the lower fabric is simultaneously formed on the lower side of the lancet 16. Thereby, the openings of the warp yarns for the upper and lower fabrics are not formed in the two upper and lower stages and either thereof is in a closed opening state. As a result, fluffing or induction of yarn breakage by mutual rubbing of the warp yarns are prevented.
