This method for weaving the double woven base fabric for air bags from polyhexamethylene adipamide yarns with an air jet loom is characterized by weaving the yarns at a yarn occupation index of 100 to 250 in a reed, at a loom rotation speed of 300 to 800 rpm, at a sub-nozzle distance of 3 to 10 cm, and in a width of ≥1.5 m. The yarn occupation index=0.106×n×√(D)/(P-T), wherein n is the number of yarns pulled in each dent; D is the fineness (dtex) of the polyhexamethylene adipamide yarn; P is a dent pitch (cm); T is a dent thickness (cm).
