PURPOSE: To accurately express a pattern of the subject cloth without peeling a foil or coating by advancing a spatula in opening warp yarns at a position separate from the cloth, hooking a coated foil yarn located on the opposite side, approaching the foil yarn to fine lines of the cloth, retreating the foil yarn and carrying out picking.

CONSTITUTION: For example, in a weaving device equipped with a support 12 having a projected roller pivoted on a rack 14 connected to pinion gears 15 on rails 11 connecting the two front and back parts left and right and a spatula 17 provided on a vertical arm 16 at the tip of the support 12, the gears 15 are rotated to advance the spatula 17 on one of the rails 11 and change the spatula 17 therefrom to the other at the tip of the rail 11. A foil yarn located on the side opposite to a warp yarn 1 is hooked by the tip of the spatula 17 and the gears 15 are then rotated in the opposite direction in the stage. Thereby, the spatula 17 retreats along the rail 11 to carry out picking of the foil yarn along fine lines and afford the objective cloth.
