PURPOSE: To improve welding strength due to an increase in an welded area by forming a plurality of fused parts lengthwise on a band surface by heating plates while unfused parts are left between the fused parts and making a plurality of welded parts separated by unwelded parts at once by pressing.
CONSTITUTION: Heating plates 6, 7 are inserted into an overlapped part 13 of a band 1, and pressing parts 8, 9 are raised to cut a tightened part of the band 1. Then the pressing parts 8, 9 are raised to push the overlapped part 13 against a slide table 3, so that an overlapped face of the band 1 is fused by heat conduction from the heating plates 6, 7. Only a plurality of fused parts distant in a lengthwise direction of the band 1 are welded on the overlapped face while unwelded parts are left between them. Thus an increase in an welded area allows welding strength to be improved.
