PURPOSE: Yarn of a prescribed length that is unwound from the take-up package is used as the seed yarn, which is held on the outside of the orientation duct so as to prevent the overspinning and spun together with fibers from the duct, whereby the yarn connection can readily be done.
CONSTITUTION: Fibers from opener 7 are made to fly in orientation duct 2 and sucked on the surface of meshed endless belt 1 to form yarn 4', which is spun by the running of belt 1 and taken up to package 6'. When the yarn is broken, the opener 7 automatically stops. Then, yarn 4 is unwound from package 6' and used as the seed yarn where the length of the seed yarn is made larger than that of the slit 11 on suction pipe 9. After the slit 11 is closed by turning cover pipe 10, the end of the seed yarn is sucked in pipe 9, so that the overspinning is prevented. Then, the pipe 10 is turned back to the original position to coincide slit 11 of pipe 9 to slit 12 of pipe 10, then the seed yarn is taken out of the pipe 9. The opener 7 is operated again to make fibers fly and the flying fibers are spun with the seed yarn, thus effecting yarn connection.
