Abstract:
To provide identification and assaying methods of a candidate of an entry factor of HCV, identification and assaying methods of a candidate of entry modulator of the HCV, an identification method of a permissive cell, and an identification method of a cell factor affecting on the entry/fusion, and a modulator/factor itself.
This syncytium formation assay comprises mixing a test cell typically producing an HCV protein, and a target cell based on a condition for promoting the syncytium formation mediated by the HCV protein discovered by the inventors to bring them near or into contact with each other, and detecting the syncytium formation caused after incubation.
