Abstract:
To provide methods and compositions for improving the efficiency of somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT), and the consequent production of nuclear transfer ESC (ntESC) and transgenic cells and/or transgenic non-human animals.SOLUTION: A method for increasing the efficiency of somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) comprises contacting a donor mammalian cell, a recipient mammalian oocyte or a mammalian SCNT embryo with an agent which decreases H3K9 me3 methylation in the donor mammalian cell, recipient mammalian oocyte or mammalian SCNT embryo, thereby increasing the efficiency of the SCNT.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
