The method for designing the eyeglass lenses includes a basic value calculating step for obtaining a basic visual action index indicating the visual action when a person sees an object while he/she wears a single focus lens or does not wear it, a progressive value calculating step for obtaining a progressive visual action index indicating the visual action when the person sees the object while he/she wears the progressive refractive power lens being a reference, and a step of designing a wider field of view than that of the progressive refractive power lens being the reference when a rate of head movement by the progressive visual action index is larger than that by the basic visual action index and designing a wider aberration region than that of the progressive refractive power lens being the reference when the rate of head movement by the progressive visual action index is larger than that by the basic visual action index.
