Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method and device is provided to improve availability of a device operating by generation of negative pressure or negative pressure by further operating a negative pressure pump following to the operating condition of a driving unit of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: When differential pressure measured by the use of a differential pressure sensor connected to a vacuum tank is less than the threshold value previously set, an electronic control unit(16) makes a motor switch(36) on through a relay(46), and a vacuum pump(34) is made switch on. Hereby, when it is confirmed that negative pressure is sufficient for operation of a device which is operated by the negative pressure of a vehicle is not utilized, the vacuum pump operates. Further, under the condition of switch off of the vacuum pump, when the pressure of an intake pipe(20) is lowered under the measured pressure in a pressure tank(14), by checking whether the measured pressure is lowered or not, correct connection of a pressure piping(38) to the intake pipe is diagnosed.
