Abstract:
The method involves supplying an information wave (20) to a reception telescope (21). Light from a local laser (24) is superimposed onto the information wave (20). After this mixing, the information light (20) is divided by a beam splitter (23,25) into two approximately identical beam components. The beam components are each sent to a detector (28,29) to generate at least one spatial error signal. The detector includes at least two detector halves. The beam shaping of the local laser (24) is such that the shape of the field distribution of the laser beam over the two detector halves is approximately equal to the field distribution provided for this beam component, in these detector halves.
