Abstract:
To provide, as cancer treatment agents, compositions for enhancing drug delivery and effectiveness of therapeutic agents.SOLUTION: A method of treating a cancer that is highly fibrotic and/or has a dense stroma in an individual comprises administering to the individual an effective amount of a composition comprising nanoparticles comprising taxane and albumin. Preferably, the nanoparticles are taxane coated with albumin (e.g., Nab-paclitaxel or Nab-docetaxel). Further preferably, the nanoparticles are combined with a therapeutic agent selected from among an antimetabolite (e.g., gemcitabine), a platinum-based agent (e.g., carboplatin), and steroid (e.g., prednisone).SELECTED DRAWING: None
