Abstract:
A system (10) for correcting twist in airfoil components (12) includes a first fixture assembly (44) for holding a first end of an airfoil component (12) and a second fixture assembly (50) for holding a second end of the airfoil component (12). A rotary drive unit is provided for rotating the first fixture assembly (44). A gage (52) is included for measuring twist angle in the airfoil component (12), and a controller (56) controls the rotary drive unit in response to input from the gage (52) to twist the airfoil component (12). In operation, the airfoil component's twist angle measured by the gage (52) is fed to the controller (56). The controller (56) computes how much the airfoil component (12) needs to be twisted to achieve a desired twist angle, and the first fixture assembly (44) is then rotated sufficiently to twist the airfoil component (12) to the desired twist angle.
