Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide therapeutic agents for Aβ peptide related disorders, e.g., Alzheimer's disease.SOLUTION: Provided is a drug comprising a CK1 inhibitor as the effective ingredient, for use in treatment of Aβ-related disorders selected from Alzheimer's disease, mild cognition impairment, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, Down Syndrome and Parkinson disease in a patient in need of treatment to decrease or inhibit accumulation of Aβ peptide, with the proviso that the inhibitor is not hymenialdisine or a derivative thereof. In certain embodiments, the inhibitor inhibits CK1 kinase activity and inhibits CK1 gene expression, and is selected from IC261, D4476, CK1-7, N-(2-aminoethyl)-5-chloronaphthalene-1-sulfonamide, SB-431542, DRB, matairesinol, 5-iodotubercidin, meridianin and SB-203580 in free or pharmaceutically acceptable salt form.SELECTED DRAWING: None
