Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new heterocyclic compound by reacting a (2-alkyl)acryloyl isocyanate with an azomethine-based compound and facilitate treatment of the (2-alkyl)acryloyl isocyanate by dissolving the new heterocyclic compound in a solvent and regenerating the isocyanate compound.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 1 equivalent of a (2-alkyl)acryloyl isocyanate of formula I (R1 is H or a lower alkyl) is reacted with 0.5-1.5 equivalent of an azomethine- based compound of formula II [R2 is a (cyclo)alkyl, an aralkyl, an alkenyl or an alkynyl; R3 and R4 each is H or a group not causing tautomerism in C=N in formula II, wmth the provmso that R3 and R4 are not simultaneously H] at -20°C to 50°C in a nonpolar solvent to provide the objective heterocyclic compound of formula III (R5 to R8 are same as R1 to R4). The compound is dissolved in a polar solvent, preferably having ≥5 dielectric constant and regeneration of the component A is carried out, especially preferably at 40-60°C. Besides, as the heterocyclic compound, a compound of formula IV is exemplified.
