Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Methylenecryptand[2,2,1]diamide of formula I and methylene- cryptand[2,2,2]diamide of formula II.
USE: The starting material for producing fixed cryptand that is useful as interphase shifting catalyst and agent for capturing heavy metals. The resulting fixed cryptand is readily recovered and low toxicity.
PREPARATION: Methyleneazacrown ether of formula III is reacted with di- or triglycoloyl chloride of formula IV (n is 1,2) to form the objective compound of formula I or II. The reaction is effected in an inert solvent of benzene in the presence of a base as triethylamine for neutralizing the evolving hydrogen chloride at room temperature.
