Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an Mg alloy by a combination of an Mg alloy capable of achieving excellent workability for a wrought product and high strength and high ductility and simple heat treatment without using an expensive rare earth metal.SOLUTION: There is provided an Mg alloy comprising more than 2.0 mass% and less than 5 mass% of Zn, at least 0.25 mass% of Ca, 0.20 mass% or more of Zr and the balance Mg with inevitable impurities, where in the structure of the Mg alloy, a ZnZr precipitate of a nanometer order is dispersed in a magnesium mother phase and Ca is segregated at the interface between the magnesium mother phase and the ZnZr precipitate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
