To reliably and easily fix only a micro substance arbitrarily selected from a plurality of micro substances on a substrate without causing any effect on the micro substances and furthermore fix any kind of micro substances on a substrate regardless of the working environments and liquid type.

The micro substance fixation apparatus 1 comprises an opposed substrate 3 having a metal layer 4 and set opposite to a substrate 2 with a liquid W interposed between them, an optical system 5 for converging laser beam in form of a spot in the liquid and trapping a micro substance by light radiation pressure, an observation system 6 for observing the micro substance, transfer means 7 for transferring the trapped micro substance close to a prescribed position on the substrate by moving the substrate in three-directions, and a control part 9 for controlling voltage application means 8 to apply voltage when the micro substance comes close to the prescribed position of the substrate and thus attract and fix the micro substance on the substrate.
