Title:
MICROALGAL CHLORELLA AND FIXATION OF CARBON DIOXIDE USING MICROALGAL CHLORELLA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3181237
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new alga of the genus Chlorella, consisting of a specific strain proliferating in a CO2-containing gaseous mixture at a specific temperature, useful for the fixation of CO2 in the combustion exhaust gas of a thermoelectric power plant, etc., and effective for preventing global warming phenomenon.
SOLUTION: A microalgal chlorella consisting of Chlorella sorokiniana HAK strain, Chlorella sorokiniana HFK strain, Chlorella sorokiniana YSK strain or Chlorella sorokiniana HHK strain and capable of proliferating in a mixed gas containing 0.03-40% CO2 at 25-40°C can be produced by collecting chlorella from an acidic high-temperature site, culturing the chlorella while slowly supplying CO2 and separating the survived strain.
