PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a microcapsule searcealy causing a yellow discoloration over time and thermal fogging, capable of providing a record material excellent in light resistance and sensitivity characteristic when used as a record material by forming the microcapsule out of a specific polyvalent isocyanate. SOLUTION: This microcapsule is obtained by forming the microcapsule out of a polyvalent isocyanate of formula I [R, R' and R'' are each H, an alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl, an alkenyl, an alkynyl, an alkoxy, an aryloxy, an alkylthio, a dialkylamino or the like; (p) is 1-3; (q) is 3-6; (r), (s) and (t) are each 0 or 1 regulated so that (q)+(r)+(s)+(t) may be 6], (e.g. a compound of formula II). The compound of formula I is obtained, for example, by reacting a compound of formula IV obtained by reacting (CH2 O)n and HBr with a compound of formula III, with the compound of the formula MCNO (M is a metal such as Na, K and Ag).
