Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance detection sensitivity at a microchip electrophoresis and enlarge versatility to objects to be measured. SOLUTION: A microchip 2 is constituted of a base plate 4 and a cover plate 6. A separation flow passage 8 and a sample flow passage 10 intersecting each other are formed as an electrophoresis capillary groove at a front face of the base plate 4. Reservoirs 12a, 12b, 12c, 12d and a prism 14 are set at the cover plate 6. The prism 14 keeps touch with the base plate 4 to function as the cover plate 6. An Au thin film 16 is vapor deposited in a 50 nm thickness on a face of the prism 14 located on the separation flow passage 8. An absorbance is detected at an absorbance detection area 1 of the separation flow passage 8, and a surface plasmon resonance refractive index is measured at a refractive index detection area 3 of the separation flow passage 8.
