Title:
MICROCOMPUTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59117656
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain a one-chip microcomputer having a high-speed counter function without using an external circuit, by preceding a conventional incorporated counter with a counter using no system clocks and incorporating the latter also. CONSTITUTION:T flip-flop circuits 8a-8n of static operation each of which consists of an AND element, an OR element, and an NOT element are cascaded to constitute a prepositive counter in a microcomputer 1A. An output 9m of the last stage is connected to a conventional incorporated counter 2 which is operated by clocks 3a-3b attained by the frequency division of the system clock, and these counters are incorporated collectively. When the number of stages of flip- flops is denoted as (m), the upper limit of the frequency of input pulses to a counted pulse input 7 is improved by 2m-number of times.
