Abstract:
To implement a more detailed fault diagnosis of a PWM timer while suppressing an increase in a processing load on a CPU.
A microcontroller (1-10) includes: a central processing unit (11); a PWM signal generation section (200, 21) for generating a PWM signal according to PWM signal generation conditions set by the central processing unit; and a diagnostic section (201, 20, 30, 40) for capturing the generated PWM signal, detecting a pulse period and a pulse width on the basis of the captured signal, and determining whether or not the detected pulse period and pulse width match a pulse period and a pulse width corresponding to the generation conditions, respectively.
