Title:
MICROCONTROLLER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2019091465
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide a microcontroller that can operate in a low power consumption mode.SOLUTION: A microcontroller 100 includes a CPU 110, a memory (RAM 112), and a peripheral circuit such as a timer circuit 145. A register 183, 184, 187 of the peripheral circuit is formed at an interface with a bus line 161-164. A power gate circuit 130 is provided for control of power supply, and the microcontroller operates in the low power consumption mode where some circuits alone are active, in addition to a normal operation mode where all circuits are active. A register 183-186 with no power supply in the low power consumption mode, such as a register 185 of the CPU, includes a volatile memory and a nonvolatile memory. In a shift to the low power consumption mode, prior to power supply stop, data stored in the volatile memory is saved to the nonvolatile memory. In a return to the normal operation mode, upon a restart of power supply to the register, data stored in the nonvolatile memory is written back into the volatile memory.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
