To provide a microemulsion with a single phase and clearness by merely consolidating a combination of water, a cyclic or short chain linear methylsiloxane and a nonionic surfactant.
A microemulsion comprises a single phase composition containing at a temperature of 15-75°C (i) 40-95 wt.% of a cyclic or shot chain linear methylsiloxane and water which exist in the proportions of 1-60 wt.% of the cyclic or short chain linear methylsiloxane to 40-99 wt.% of the water in the single phase composition. (ii) 5-60 wt.% of a cationic surfactant and a nonionic surfactant which exist in the proportions of 0-40 wt.% of the cationic surfactant to 60-100 wt.% of the nonionic surfactant in the single phase composition, and the cyclic or short chain linear methylsiloxane exists as a droplet of an average diameter not more than 50 nm in the single phase composition.
