Abstract:
To provide a microfluidic system adjusted so that fluid flow in this system may be controlled by each different surface having different surface characteristics.
The invented microfluidic system includes base material processed for providing the area of its surface having different surface characteristics, this area is arranged so as to control any fluid flow passing through the above base material. In this microfluidic system, demarcation between two surface areas having relative hydrophilia or hydrophoby is used, which can hamper any fluid flow beyond the above demarcation unless rotation of this system provides the fluid with energy enough to overcome difference in surface energy of the surface area.
