Abstract:
To provide submicron oil-in-water emulsions useful as a vaccine adjuvant for enhancing the immunogenicity of antigens.
In the submicron oil-in-water emulsions, the antigen is a viral antigen, a bacterial antigen, or a combination thereof, the adjuvant is Quil A, cholesterol, GPI-0100, dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide, etc. Vaccine compositions contain the antigen combined with the emulsion intrinsically or extrinsically. Furthermore, a method for making the emulsion and vaccine is provided.
