PURPOSE: To provide the subject device easy to identify a pathogen and useful for detecting bacteria in the blood, so designed that a solid medium device is provided with a connection for internal flow communication with a liquid medium culture bottle and a transparent screw cap for sample taking.
CONSTITUTION: This device 10 for the calibration of the microbes in a body fluid sample comprises a long, thin body 11 defining a solid medium proliferation chamber 12, a solid wall 13 defining one end of the long, thin body 11, an opening 40 defining the opposite end, a transparent cap 32 for the opened end, a plurality of slid medium plates 18, 20 positioned on the inside surface of the cap 32, cooperative link means 36 provided on the opened end 40 and the transparent cap 32, respectively, and designed to sealingly engage the opened end 40 with the cap 32, a part 22 extended integrally from the long, thin body 11 between the solid wall 13 and the opened end 40, and a hole extending through the part 22 and fluidly communicating with the culture chamber 12, and an inner screw 24.
