Title:
MICROORGANISM DEGRADING HALOGENATED HYDROCARBON AND ITS USE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP10052259
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To obtain a new microorganism belonging to the genus Burkholderia, having a specific ability to degrade halogenated hydrocarbons and capable of efficiently cleaning water and soil polluted with the halogenated hydrocarbons in an industrial scale under a natural environment.
A microorganism, such as Burkholderia cepacia N15-1 (FERM BP-5502) or Burkholderia cepacia N15-2 (FERM BP-5503), belonging to the genus Burkholderia, and having an ability to degrade halogenated hydrocarbons such as trichloroethylene, especially an ability to degrade 100% of 30ppm trichloroethylene on 18hr and ≥50% of 100ppm trichloroethylene in 2 days, is obtained.
