Abstract:

To provide a microscope which is light, compact, and easy to carry.

A microscope 1, which captures an image of a sample using an image sensor 9 and displays the image on a monitor 5, includes; a horizontal stage 12 on which a sample is placed; a light source 14 which is provided upward from the stage 12 and irradiates a sample placed on the stage 12 with light; an observation optical device 8 which comprises an object lens 24 and a lens system 28, 29 and is located downward from the stage 12 to form an image of a sample on the image sensor 9; and a lower-side mirror 27 which is located downward from the stage 12 at a tilt angle of 45 degrees with respect to a direction perpendicular to the stage 12 to bend an optical axis by 90 degrees between the stage 12 and the image sensor 9. This allows the stage 12 and the observation optical device 8 to be arranged in an L shape.
