Title:
MICROSTRIP SPIRAL ANTENNA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3772577
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen the band of the microstrip spiral antenna and to prevent its characteristics from degrading by providing a radio wave absorber at the opening of a cavity bottom part that a microstrip tapered balun penetrates.
SOLUTION: The radio wave absorber 10 is provided at the opening of the cavity bottom part that the microstrip tapered balun 4 penetrates. When a microwave fed to a coaxial connector 5 is transmitted to the microstrip tapered balun 4, this antenna propagates the microwave transmitted through a microstrip line earth conductor, even to the cavity bottom opening flank of a structure 11. The microwave is absorbed by a liquid radio wave absorber 10 applied to the wall surface in the cavity to suppress the propagation of a tuning mode wherein the microstrip line serves as an inner conductor and the cavity internal wall surface of the structure 11 serves as an external conductor. The transmitted microwave is propagated in opposite-phase mode to a parallel two-wire line 3 and fed in opposite phase to an antenna radiation element 1.
