To provide a microwavable raw material for a steamed bread-like infant food, capable of being simply microwaved, capable of being ingested by such an infant that is in the latter weaning period and nine months of age or older, having no fear that it may cause allergosis, and capable of being ingested by the infants in great variety after cooked.
This microwavable raw material for the steamed bread-like infant food comprises a powdered food raw material from which the steamed bread-like infant food is prepared by mixing the powdered food raw material in an amount of 100 pts.wt. with water and/or milk in an amount of 50-100 pts.wt., kneading the mixture to form a kneaded material, filling the kneaded material into a package, and heating the material in the package by a microwave oven, wherein the powdered food raw material contains wheat starch, fats and oils in an amount of 30-80 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the wheat starch, a vegetable fiber in an amount of 1-15 pts.wt., a yolk powder in an amount of 5-20 pts.wt., and a baking powder in an amount of 10-25 pts.wt., and further has a water content of ≤10 wt.%. A food set for the infant is composed of the raw material for the steamed bread-like infant food which is encased and sealed, and of the microwavable package.
