Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce costs by causing an inverter to change the flow of current in the primary winding of a power converter in alternate directions using four switches, and causing the secondary winding of the power converter to feed electricity to a magnetron. CONSTITUTION: The first, second, third, and fourth transistors 46F, 46S, 46T, 46R of an inverter/drive 22 act as semiconductor swtiches for bulk DC currents between the input lines 42, 44 of the inverter to be opened and closed to the output lines 48, 50 of the inverter. A control circuit 24 receives a control input signal showing the current of a magnetron 32, and the pairs of semiconductor switches 46S, 46T, 46F, 46R are switched to open states at the time responding to the signal. Thereby costs can be reduced.
