Abstract:

To provide an improved microwave heating device capable of attaining a uniform heating with high efficiency.

Electric field of microwave and heating efficiency are heightened by adopting a resonance cavity. An object to be heated is inserted into an area of a weak electric field so that a Q value does not become lower than a necessary value and resonance of a required mode is obtained even when the object to be heated is inserted. The problem of mode selectivity is solved by maintaining the Q value higher than a prescribed value. The sheet-shaped object to be heated is inserted in the electric field almost uniform in z-direction and made to move in x-direction by adding a signal with a frequency very near to that of a resonant frequency in TM 110 mode to an almost cubic-shaped resonance cavity 1. The uniform heating with high efficiency is obtained by adding an almost uniform electromagnetic energy to the object to be heated.
