Abstract:

To provide middleware for an information appliance network, providing more comfortable living environment to a resident by replacing control instructions to an individual information appliance with proper automatic control according to a human behavior pattern.

This information appliance middleware 1 has respective service components classified according to a service function, in a user service part 41a, a control service part 41b and a hardware service part 41d. When the user service part 41a receives a service request from a user, the user service part 41a starts the service component corresponding to its service according to service component information of a lookup table 41t. The service component for the appliance of the hardware service part 41d remotely controls the corresponding information appliance 9 through a remote control part 53 and a device interface 2.
