PURPOSE: To obtain a milky detergent compsn. which exhibits a foaming power, a reduced sliminess, and an improved feeling in use by incorporating a specific amidoethercarboxylic acid salt, a specific amidoether, and a specific fatty acid glyceride into the compsn.

CONSTITUTION: This compsn. contains an amidoethercarboxylic acid salt of formula I [wherein R2 is 5-21C alkyl or alkenyl; n and m are each the average degree of polymn., being 0-20 provided 1≤n+m≤20; A is a group of formula II or III, H, or 1-3C alkyl; k and j are each the same as n or m; and M is an alkali or alkaline earth metal or an (alkanol)ammonium], an amidoether of formula IV (wherein B is a group of formula III, H, or 1-3C alkyl) in a specified wt. ratio to the foregoing salt, a glyceride of a 16-24C fatty acid contg. 75wt.% or higher monoglyceride, and optionally a specified amt. or lower of glycerin or a glycerin ether of formula V [wherein R is H, -(CH2CH2O)pCH2 COOM, or -(CH2CH2O)qH (wherein p and q are each 1-20)].
