The milling apparatus including a milling machine 2 and a feeder 1 for feeding particles G thereinto, which feeder 1 is constituted of a screw 12 that comprises a rotary rod 10 and a helical blade 11 attached to the outer circumference of the rod 10 and is disposed horizontally or tiltingly with its front end kept upward, and of a case 13 of a U-shaped cross section that is disposed along the lower face of the screw 12 and curves in a manner of closely following the helical blade 11, is characterized by transferring the particles G charged to the base end side of the screw 12 toward the front end side thereof by virtue of the helical blade 11 by rotating the screw 12, to allow the particles G to fall from the case 13 to feed the same into the milling machine 2.
