To provide a milling cutter allowing an easy fine adjustment of a position in a tool axis direction of an insert in a state of a cutting angle of a sub-cutting edge kept constant to obtain high cutting edge run-out accuracy.
In this milling cutter, a mounting seat is provided in a recessed part 42 formed on an outer periphery of a distal end part of a substantially disc-shaped tool main body 32 to be rotated around an axis, and the insert 33 having a cutting edge is attachably/detachably mounted on the mounting seat with its seating surface closely adhered thereon. In the mounting seat, a guide part 44 extending in the axis direction of at least the tool main body 32 is formed. In the seating surface of the insert 33, a part 56 to be guided, slidably fitted in the extended direction of the guide part 44, is formed. In the tool main body 32, an adjusting screw 34 is provided so that the insert 33 may be abutted in the extended direction of the guide part 44.
