Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a milling method which machines the top face of workpiece into smooth recessed R face in short time in the milling method which machines the top face of workpiece into smooth recessed R face.
CONSTITUTION: A milling tool 1 is tilted for the top face 7 of milling machine table with adequate angle to generate an elliptical tool machining locus 8 which has large curvature. The milling tool 1 is moved along a circular arc 3 which forms recessed R face. Further, the movement of circular arc is repeated at a pitch 5 between tool path. It is possible to machine the surface of a workpiece 4 into smooth recessed R face in short time owing to this method.
