To provide a minutes retrieval assisting device that makes it easy to proofread a minutes document by reproducing voice information corresponding to a speaker after automatically performing conversion into character information by using voice recognition technology.

Minutes data are inputted from a recorded tape and saved in a database by using voice recognition technology. Retrieval can be carried out through retrieval from the data base where the minutes are recorded under specified conditions. Further, provided are means for conventional input from data from a keyboard and output of a minutes proofreading result in the form of text data.
