Abstract:
To provide a mirror image discrimination device, a method and a program with which there is no need to attach a tag to an object and it is possible to discriminate a mirror image by a simple device composition without being affected by an environment.SOLUTION: Reference images of articles are registered in a reference registration unit 10. A camera image acquisition unit 20 acquires an individual image of an article cut out from a camera image. In a mirror image discrimination unit 30, an inversion degree base discrimination unit 31 extracts a plurality of non-inverted matching pairs and inverted matching pairs by feature point matching between individual images Ii and their inverted images Ii' and reference images Iref_i. Furthermore, a difference from a relative position is obtained for each combination of two pairs respectively selected from all of non-inverted matching pairs and all of inverted matching pairs, and a non-inversion sum total and an inversion sum total are calculated, with determination made for each individual image as to whether being a mirror image, on the basis of the difference between the non-inversion sum total and the inversion sum total.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
