To more precisely determine the misfire of an internal combustion engine loaded on a hybrid car in which an internal combustion engine is connected through a gear mechanism to an axle even when pressurization torque is output.
When a vehicle stops according as a braking force which is equal to or more than a prescribed braking force acts, and pressurization torque is not output from a motor MG2, the misfire of an object cylinder is determined by comparing an input 30 degree rotation request time T30 with a threshold Tref1 (S120, S130), and when the pressurization torque is output from the motor MG2, the misfire of the object cylinder is determined by comparing the input 30 degree rotation request time T30 with a threshold Tref2 which is smaller than the threshold Tref1 (S140, S130). Thus, it is possible to precisely determine the misfire of the object cylinder even when the pressurization torque is output from the motor MG2.
