Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve chemical stability by using a perovskite type oxide having a specified composition containing Ba and Ce. SOLUTION: The mixed ion conductor is comprised of a perovskite type oxide expressed by the formula: Baa(Ce1-bM1b)LcO3-γ, wherein M1 is a trivalent rare earth metal except Ce; L is at least one element selected from Zr, Ti, V, Nb, Cr, Mo, W, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Ag, Au, Pd, Pt, Bi, Sb, Sn, Pb and Ga; (a) is 0.9 to 1; (b) is 0.16 to 0.26; (C) is 0.01 to 0.1; γ is >=(2+b-2a)/2 and <1.5. The preferable M1 is at least one element selected from La, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Y or the like, and especially preferable M1 is at least one element selected from Gd and Y. The conductor has the conductivity necessary for electrochemical devices of a fuel cell or the like and is excellent in moisture resistance.
