Title:
MIXED VAPOR DISCHARGE LAMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS57838
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a mixed vapor discharge lamp having excellent spectrum distribution, by encapsulating specific amount of tin bromide and calcium bromide together with mercury and inert gas into a light permeable container containing an electrode.

CONSTITUTION: 0.7W2.0mg of tin bromide per 1ml of the inner volume of the container and 0.24W2.5mg of calcium bromide per 1ml of the inner volume of the container are encapsulated together with 10W40torr of inert gas and mercury into a container while a pair of main electrodes 4, 5 and a starting auxiliary electrode 6 are encapsulated. The heat produced by the discharge will heat a light emission tube 1 to increase the vapor pressure of mercury, tin bromide and calcium bromide thus to increase the light emission gradually and stabilized. The volatile subsistance in the light emission tube 1 or tin bromide will emit the light having strong spectrum under the operational temperature of the light emission tube, where the molecular spectrum of calcium bromide which is the main component of red is overlapped on the spectrum to emit the light strongly. Consequently the spectrum distribution is improved.
